After my Albatros died I accelerate the completion of my Dragon. This is a X-Streme jet Dragon with ATJ turbine. 17kg of trust is more than enough :-) Maiden was done at Lista Airfield som week ago.

Maiden F-16

Yesterday I maiden my Tamjet F-16 at Lista airfield. First landing was bumpy but no damage. Next landings I flare out beutiful and setle down perfect. Hope to fly more next weekend.

Today I had a short trip to the ice at Bråstein fore testing my new FPV rig. A predator from HC. Powered by a pusher prop, 2200mAh bat and Hitec 35mHz radio. 180cm wing span. Beutiful slow and stable.

Lista airfield 14-15 august

Friday T.O and I head to Lista airfield too maiden my Rafale. After a test pilot run it was ready for my first try. Lift of perfectly and circling at 3/4 power fore about 4-5minuts and it was time to land. I had Rune Figved at my side as mentor and he instructed me to a beautiful landing. Puh...

Saturday I enjoy a beautiful run until a hard landing destroy nose gear. Not too bad but we head back home to start fixing the damage. I'll be back... this is serous fun.

Today I had my first test flight at new air field. Bumpy but ok. We need to do some more ground work but I had five take of and landing without problems.

Today we start to move our airfield to new location. There was no plase for air strip at to day location so after long time sertion we found new plase not so fare from Malmheim. If ok weather tomorrow working table is next. Cutting new air strip wil start about 2weeks from now.

Sunday working tables was moved.

R.I.P Kingtech

Saturday my Kingtech ended its short life. After 6 test run fore a total of app 8-10 minutes running it was time to try the turbin in my Rafale. Fuel system had bean flushed several time and everything was ready for the big day. Turbine spool up fine to idle but seams to hesitate fore a half second on its way to full throttle. Back to idle after about 10secund at 145000 rpm. Next I gave full throttle but at 70-80000rpm it was over. Suddenly stop and a terrible sound. I use pressurised air to cool down turbine. Front compressor damage and everything is total stuck. Can’t turn anything. During 3 test run in test jig I notice high speed vibration at app 70-80000rpm so this turbine has to be out of balance from factory.

Turbine is sent back to factory. Now I just have to wait

Arriving Fagernes late tuesday afternon. Spending the evening in the hotell bar with good friends and good wiskey. Will be back friday with report.

Friday and partly sun and a lot of wather on ice.
Some flame out coused by wather suced in intake but most manage to get airborne without problems.

Another beutiful day at Bråstein ice. Member of Jæren Sports Flyer had spent friday night plowing runway and there where3 jet modells in the air including Runes maiden with his Flyeaglejet F15.

I only bring my Extra today so I had god time enjoying models and the good weather. Tesa drop the cokpit on his Sukhoi in a spin but it landed in deep snow without damage.

Last weekend Tesa and I had a trip to Bråstein and Lutsi. Tesa was testing new flybarless system from Align on his 600. To mutch wind lead us to Lutsi and a realy slipper ice. Just like Bambi on ice.

Now the shit has actual hit the fan. On impulse I purchase a Flyeaglejet Rafale with Kingtech K-80E jet engine. Scary. Real scary. This is a big plane, or well.. Not actual. Maiden today 2009-12-05. Sadly maiden ended in a concreat block. Broken ving and front wheel mount. Some time in hobby room and it vil bee back.

Bore airfield Sunday 2009-11-29. It was time for maiden but the wheels penetrate the partly frozen ground and it newer gain enough speed to lift from the ground. Even giant turbin models coudent gain enough speed to lift of. Better luck next time.

Maiden is closing inn. 1,9kg with that small wing!! Scary. 1000wats pushing it to 100mph and with my slow brain this is going to bee exciting.

It`s taken long time but now starting to look like a plane. Installing servo and rest of electronics next week. Air operated retract I pressure tested today and its hold at least one our.

A beutiful weekend

Saturday we head for Albatros RC to blow some dust of our well stored airplane. Sun and almost no wind let us enjoy several nice flights before members with some serious big plane arrive. Wilga equipped with 250ccm engine to pull up gliders with up to 6,5m wing span. Sunday we had a trip to Bore and Forus RC to watch some jet models. A beautiful Eurofighter rip the sky and once again show me that this is to fast. Yet…. A beautiful pitz equipped with a 5sylinder Moki engine smashed in to the field after some radio problems. Totally wrecked. A big loss. We rounded up with a short trip to HIP airfield and some heli flying before the light went out.

Start of october

Low October suns have melted some hip member and lead them to the hobby room to charge battery. With coffee on the thermos we head for hip airfield. Olav wracked his Mirage edf plane Saturday. Tuesday he was back with almost a new plane just a little bit heavier from all epoxy. He had 2 run without accident. Today he had one beautiful run before an unfortunately send-of put it nosedive to the ground and the front exploded. More epoxy and Olav will be back. Tesa started the day with a ticket on his way to the field and ended with a “exploded” 500. Hardest hit so far in hip history. He almost had to dig the heli out of the ground. I tested a canopy my wife forces me to bay. Yea…. Right..

Tuesday Tesa, Mr Coffee and I had a trip to Tjessem airfield.
Tesa is member of Albatross rc club and he invite us to try out the airfield.
Mr Coffee’s Mustang had taken a tumble in the car on its way so the landing gear was broken and he had to delay maiden. Tesa was in the air with his beautiful Spitfire and Sukhoi. I had 3run with my Pitts Python with new battery and better cg.

Notodden 2009

This weekend 3 hip menbers took the trip to scale meeting at Notodden. We arrive Saturday about 2pm, finding us a good place overlooking the air strip and enjoy many hours of beautiful scale flying. Scale rc jets was absolutely favorite with speed and sound almost like the real thing. I cud see some plans taking place inside Olav and Mr. Coffee’s head. Saturday evening we enjoy out life in the city and after breakfast Sunday we head back to the show. Sun was shining and we enjoy the show until 3pm when we head for home. 4-5 hours driving, some pit stop and we split up app 8pm. We where all agree that it have been a memorable trip and we most certain will be back next year. Video is coming.

Yesterday I put the Outrage550 and a spade in the car and head for hip.
After all the rain it was almost impossible to access the area so I bring out the spade and start digging channels for leading water away from the road. That helps a lot but we need a load of sand to fill the holes.
The wind had almost died so when Mr. Coffee arrived we enjoyed 4battery each before the light went out.

New frame for Align T-Rex 600E

After doing some research, testing and calculation I end up designing my own frame fore the Align T-Rex600. First pair returns from production last week. This is the ting I focus on:

*Different angels and hight for the battery tray
*Brake away tabs for canopy mount (from Outrage550)
*Mount engine upwards fore higher cg or as original downwards.
*The whole frame is tilted 1,5degree forward to raise tail fore better ground clearing.
*Alternative mounting fore esc, bec/ubec or panels.
*More ridged against crash.
*Better gyro protection.

The prototype is made from G10 and is 15gram heavier than stock Align frame.
If feedback is good I will start production frames in both G10 and Carbon fibre. (black)
I use my old 6/700 as a donor for the test so not all parts are pure 600E.
